Adapting a Pattern and loving it!!!

This was an experiment. This is the same pattern as the coat I made for mom only in a child's size. This is a 2T. I had to adapt the pattern becouse it called for a lining. This is flannel and warm enough on its own for cool days. I kept with snaps instead of buttons. Also to support the snaps i put an additional strip along the inside. Lined the collar seam with a soft fuzzy ribbon. You'll notice the material is going the wrong direction on back. Miss cut.  Except for the details all serged. Honestly I ❤it!

Scrappy Quilt I started!

I am a little behind on writing on my blog but I am going to try and catch up a bit in a few posts. It is not as quick As I would like to transfer pic from my phone to computer which seems to push me behind when I would like to post LOL
This is some extra material I just cut into 2x2 inch squares and I would like to stress not perfectly cut 2x2 inch squares. HEHE
I will add to this as I get more squares. could finish it in a month or a year maybe two.

Made these for a Dear Lady who is expecting ---

Working on a Star Wars Quilt Top

I have begun working on a Star Wars Quilt top. Anticipating when I get my quilting machine. :) I really went out on a limb with the boarder fabric. I have quite a bit of misc pieces of fabric I purchased as scraps or left over from other projects. The Fiesta print is left over from Pants I made for my mom ( love ya mom).
I was at Walmart the other day and talking with this lady who was starting up quilting. I told her have fun with it do not be consumed with colors matching. My favorite quilt is one of left over pieces from previous quilts. I feel like the beginning of this top proves my point. I have more strips cut out I will share as I go. :)

Making another pair of pants my own:)

These pants๐Ÿ‘– were given to me by my mother. I did like the way they fit but felt like they were a bit boring. So it took me a little while but I found a bleach pen and drew designs on both the front and back. After that dried I cut some slits in the front and patched it with yellow bee material. ( purchased at Walmart LOL) --( after all bees are all the rage now, right...... hehe) I had purchased some scrap material at a local quilt shop and I used the light weight corduroy to make a flair. I was going to use blue corduroy and blue bee material but my husband said the yellow will stand out more. He was absolutely right the yellow was perfect. I machine embroidered a flower๐ŸŒป on each flair and boxed in the patches with a decorative stich available on the machine. The slits will open up after a few washes these are one of my favorites. I love how they look so bright. Great call on the yellow. ❤❤๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Forgive the awkwardness of the photos.... Its not that easy to take pictures looking down. HAHA
